GOD
God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He exists eternally as three equal Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, 26-27; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19)
JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is fully God and equal with the Father and Holy Spirit. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He descended and set captives free, ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5, 14; 14:10-31; Romans 1:4; Ephesians 4:9-10; Philippians 2:5-6)
HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily. (John 14:17, 16:7-13; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Ephesians 5:18)
THE CHURCH
The Church is the bride of Christ and the body of Christ on earth. It represents Jesus Christ, works with the power of the Holy Spirit and seeks for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the Church as a member of the body of believers. There is spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (John 17:11, 20-23; Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22, 5:25-32; Hebrews 12:23)
BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
Given at Pentecost, it is the promise of Jesus Christ, sent by the Father, to empower the Church to be a witness to the Gospel throughout the whole earth. One of the signs of baptism in the Holy Spirit is speaking in other tongues, along with various other gifts. (Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 1:5, 2:1-4, 2:17, 2:38-39, 8:14-17, 10:38, 10:44-47, 11:15-17, 19:1-6)
COMMUNION
A time of communion in the presence of God when the elements of bread and grape juice represent the body and blood of Christ and are taken in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. (Matthew 26:26-29; Luke 22:14-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32)
DIVINE HEALING
Divine healing is illustrated in the life and ministry of Jesus and included in the commission of Jesus to His disciples. It is given as a sign, which is to fellow believers. It is also a part of Jesus’ work on the cross and one of the gifts of the Spirit. (Psalms 103:2-3; Isaiah 53:5; Matthew 8:16-17; Mark 16:17-18; Acts 8:6-7; James 5:14-16)
INSPIRED SCRIPTURE
The Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the only source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because God inspires it, it is the truth without error. The Bible was not written only to educate us, but to change our lives. (Psalms 119:19; 2 Timothy 3:16)
SALVATION
We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and His death on the cross. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or any human effort. Because of sin every person is in need of salvation from God. When we accept salvation, we are born again by the power of the Holy Spirit. (John 3:3-18; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5)
THE GREAT COMMISSION
The Christian life is an ongoing process of being transformed by God’s Word and His Spirit to complete the development of Christ’s character in us. It is through the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and God’s grace that the Christian is able to live a godly life. (Romans 8:29; 2 Corinthians 3:18; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3; Titus 2:12; Hebrews 2:11)
BAPTISM
Following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the new convert is commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water in the name of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit and Jesus’ name. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38)
